Lipstick lot!

As most of you already know, I purchase makeup online from the US and sell them here in Sri Lanka so here’s a look at some of my recent purchases that arrived over the weekend.

By far the fast selling type of lip product has to be the NYX Cosmetics soft matte lip creams! I’m a fan myself of the amazing quality and texture of the product and the fact that it’s super long lasting. Sri Lankans here can’t seem to get enough of it either.

Second fast selling lip product would have to be the Maybelline Colorsensational lipsticks; not in particular the matte ones but pretty much the entire range in general. I haven’t given any of them a go myself but I think I perhaps should. Which colour do you think I should try first?

Thirdly, I’d have to say Eos lip balms sell quite fast even though none are shown in the above image. I’ve actually got to make a reorder on all the flavours cuz they sold like hot cakes just before Christmas.

So there you have it, a rough overlook on what us Lankans are in love with at the moment and my most recent order of lipsticks.

Have a good day everyone!

2-in-1 Impact Shadow Liner review

Been trying out a new liner by Maybelline Eyestudio. I got this last year while shopping in Malaysia and have worn it quite a few times already. I don’t know if I like it lesser or more than my NYX Cosmetics retractable liner but it’s somewhere there in my good books.

So as the name suggests, this is a 2 in 1 shadow liner. Meaning, it can be used an a liner or shadow liner that can be smudged to create a eyeshadow effect on the eye lids. I find that the packaging is quite simple and easy to work with. It’s not twistable or retractable so you’ve got to sharpen it when the product tip runs out which is also okay with me. Sharpening the tip means I get a good thin line marking when I use it. The nib however can be a little annoying because you don’t always close it right and then bits of the product gets caught it in.

Once applied onto my eyes, I find that it stays on smudge-proof for quite a couple of hours. If I can to say exactly how long, I’d say about 6 to 7 hours without peeling, smudging or running too dry. I like products like this. It’s also got a good pigmentation and I don’t have to run it over and over to get a good dark colour. One line or two does the trick for me. It does actually glide on with ease so that’s another plus point.

Would I be interested in buying more colours in this range? Definitely would love to!

Maybelline Colour Show Glitter Mania review

I got gifts! Well, it’s one gift actually but four little ones altogether…. does that make any sense? Well it’s four nail polish 😀 My mum got them for me over Christmas; she’s actually pretty good at picking nail polish colours. They are from the Glitter Mania range and I believe there are eight in total, but I have four with me and will be reviewing them for you guys today.

Starry Night 603, Paparazzi Purple 606, Dazzling Diva 602 and Matinee Mauve 605

I loved these glitter colours the minute I saw them and I am not an overly glitter fan either but these look super pretty in their cute little bottles. I admit you need a good two-to-three coats to get your nails to look exactly like they are in the bottles but who cares right? I just love the look of them.

I’m really loving Dazzling Diva so that is what I am wearing on my nails this week. Such a pretty silver colour with silver shimmer particles. Starry Nights is equally as pretty and it’s got silver glitter particles in it as well. My least favourite is Matinee Mauve simply because it’s a weird looking pink shade. I wish it could have been a little pinkier or brighter but oh well.

These beauties do not chip for a good week which is pretty impressive and you cannot really tell if it streaks or not because of all the pretty glitter!

Would I love to get my hands on the rest of the shades? OH YEAH!

Maybelline Color Show polish

Sweet Sunshine

Got one Maybelline Colour Show nail polish as a gift over the weekend and I have been obsessed with it ever since! The shade I got is in Sweet Sunshine #405 and it’s a super bright and funky yellow. I’ve got nothing remotely even close to this shade in my nail polish collection and yet somehow I love this so much. Just the look of it on my nails makes me happy :D. As for the application, I had to use two coats to get a good coverage. ..One coat was too streaky. I love the packaging as well, its user friendly and a nice sizable quantity of polish. The brush applicator works really well on the nails for a good coverage as well and overall I think these type of polishes are a great gift idea. It certainly made my day 🙂

Love for makeup :)

Let’s get one thing straight; I started blogging because I love talking about the things I do, things I buy, places I go and people I spend time with. I can see that a lot of other bloggers have different things in mind and I respect that 🙂

I decided to check out some other blogs for inspiration; mostly beauty blogs. I love how everyone’s creativity shines through in what they do, how they discuss products and also take great photographs of the items they’re talking about. I’m not all that great when it comes to taking photographs but hey, I’m trying!

I recently made a lotta online purchases – some for myself and some to sell. So its crucial that I know what I’m talking about and I promote products that really do their job well. I’m a huge fan of ELF Cosmetics, NYX Cosmetics, Maybelline and L’Oréal when it comes to makeup.

I absolutely love colour balms like the L’Oréal Colour Riche Balm. I’ve got them in four shades which I’ll discuss on another day 🙂 I also love flavoured balms like Maybelline Baby Lips in Peppermint and Cherry Me. The eyeshadow palettes by ELF Cosmetics are also great because they’re really pigmented and look fab upon application.  They stay on for long which means I don’t need touch ups either. Soft Matte Lip Cream by NYX are my new top favourites ♡

I’ll be discussing each of my purchases separately in the days to come so stay tuned!

Take care! Xoxo

Colourful me :D

I don’t often like to mix too many colours together but boy have you got to look at my outfit today! I bought this summer dress some months back from Odel but only just decided to wear it because I wasn’t sure if it would suit me.

As you can see it’s got multiple colours blended together like a tie n dye type of dress. It’s very light and made of cotton so its perfect for the blazing heat that’s taken over Colombo.  Length wise it comes up to my calf so I’m not too concerned about pairing it with leggings today. It’s also got a red cloth belt which I’ve knotted to my left side. It hasn’t got any sleeves so I’ve paired it with a short sleeved bolero from Kelly Felder.

A colourful dress like this needs to be paired with equally colourful accessories but I’m not going to overdo it, don’t worry.  I’ve got out my cross body bag from Nine West today in a gorgeous banana yellow-creme like colour. Plenty of space for my wallet, keys, pocket mirror, tissues, lip balm (Baby Lips by Maybelline in Peppermint) and body mist (Bath and Body Works in White Citrus). Got nothing on my face – decided to keep it fresh and makeup free 🙂

TGIF! Xoxo
