The FH Studio takes exclusive menswear to new heights with the second edition of its annual ‘Concept’ show. ‘Concept 2015’, a fashion show of international class is conceptualized by renowned men’s fashion consultant Fouzul Hameed and will enhance the Sri Lankan men’s fashion arena. ‘Concept 2015’ will be held on Saturday 22 November 2014 at Water’s Edge and will showcase an exclusive range of menswear that will transform the man of today into the man of tomorrow.

‘Concept 2015’ will showcase a total of nine collections, which include the Blue Story, a Printed look, Denim look, Italian look, Indoor Western look, Fusion look, Formal look, Power Dressing look, and Ceremonial look. Inspired by European architecture and the colours of nature, this show will forecast fashion trends a year in advance, allowing men to be more aware of the trends they need to lookout for and use to dress for different occasions. Adding an element of glamour to the show, renowned local and international models will showcase each collection at the event.

Commenting on the launch, Fouzul Hameed, Managing Director of the Hameedia Group stated, “A man needs many things in life to be complete, which is a healthy life, comfortable traveling, perfect grooming, ease of mind and a heart to give back to the society. ‘Concept 2015’ show revolves around that purpose. Last year we took a great leap forward by launching our very own fashion show. The show has been created to change the landscape of menswear fashion in Sri Lanka. The way someone is dressed defines their personality and this show is all about showcasing the extensive range of clothing that we create for men. It’s all about showing men that their clothes need not be rudimentary and discreet, the show helps men realize that they can make great fashion choices for every occasion. Prasad Bidapa comes on board again this year as the choreographer for ‘Concept 2015’. We are honoured to partner with him and his experience and expertise will undoubtedly give the show an international look and feel, making it the most anticipated menswear extravaganza in the local fashion calendar.”

Hameed further added, “Serving society is a core value of the Hameedia Group, and ‘Concept 2015’ will feature a variety of fundraising initiatives. Many strategic partners are joining our fundraising efforts this year by supporting this event and all proceeds collected via ‘Concept 2015’ will be channelled towards the ‘My Friend’ project, which helps educate underprivileged and marginalized children across the country. The Captain of Sri Lanka’s National Cricket Team, Angelo Matthews, is a trustee and ambassador of the ‘My Friend’ project and he continues to support all the fundraising initiatives we have planned for the project at ‘Concept 2015’.

Fouzul Hameed is the mogul of menswear in Sri Lanka and the upcoming ‘Concept 2015’ show is set to further enhance the Sri Lankan men’s fashion arena and uplift the FH brand to international standards. The collections that will be showcased at the event encompass over 60 years of tradition, know-how and expertise and will truly raise the bar of the local menswear industry. ‘Concept 2015’ will look towards future seasons while expanding on lifestyle-influenced designs that are tailored to suit every individual.

OPI Samoan Island

image

Yes, I’ve kind of gone bonkers over OPI nail polish this month.  This is my third review of yet another nail polish by the brand and I have to say, I’m loving it.

What I have on my nails in the above picture is the colour Samoan Island.  Again I don’t know from which year or range it is from because I happened to just pick it up at the Sephora counter at a mall in Jeddah. It might seem like nothing but actually is a very beautiful colour. A very neutral taupe is how I’d describe it.

The opacity is not as bad as you’d think on this one. I only had to apply two coats to get the colour right and it left no streaks or bumps whatsoever. I love the way the application brush glides on the nails and give it an even application.

Great job OPI! Xoxo

Beauty – Would You Rather TAG

Hi everyone!

It’s Monday morning here in Sri Lanka and I was honestly looking for something different to post and I came across this beauty tag posted by StyleBreakdown. I thought it was a fun tag to give a try and see how differently I’d answer the question so I hope you all find my post interesting in some way 😀

1. Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lip glosses or lose all of your palettes and eye shadows?

This one is a pretty easy question for me purely because I don’t use palettes and eye shadows on a daily basis. I’d give it up and lose it all without batting a lash!

2. Would you rather chop all of your hair off or never be able to cut it again?

Jeepers! I recently had a haircut and tried out something very different with a short do this time….. But here’s the thing; I wouldn’t mind chopping it all off because it’s going to grow back at some point rather than never be able to cut it again because that would be totally insane.

3. Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?

Coral ain’t the colour for me so pink cheek it is!

4. If you had $1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?

Darn it, this one was definitely a hard question to answer… but I’m going to have to go with clothes.

5. Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner, or eyeliner as lipstick?

Eyeliner as a lipstick! Lipsticks are too chunky to be used as eyeliners whereas eyeliners would work a lot easier on the lips.

6. Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?

Sephora for sure! Simply because there are so many brands under one roof instead of just shopping at one store which has one brand. I love diversity and choices 😀

7. Would you rather only use one eyeshadow colour or one lip colour for the rest of your life?

Ah another easy one for me – one eyeshadow colour for the rest of my life please 🙂 I’d go with having just one very basic, nude-like shade for the rest of my life and multiple options for my lips because I love lip products.

8. Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter?

Thankfully we do not have winter over here in Sri Lanka but I have experienced winter so many times and oh boy this is a tough one. I do not like feeling too cold and always want to be comfortable and bundled up in cold weather so I guess I’m going to have to go with winter clothes in summer even though I know for a fact that I’ll melt my a** off ha ha!

9. Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?

BRIGHT NAILS! I love colour even though I do like certain dark colours on my nails but brighter colours are always so fun and I just love a pop of colour at all times.

10. Would you rather give up your favourite lip colour or favourite eye product.

I’d give up my favourite eye product. If I’d been asked this question a year ago my answer would have been very different but I’ve been experimenting with lip colours a lot this year and wouldn’t mind giving up my favourite eyeliner just to keep all my favourite lip colours.

11. Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a ponytail or messy bun?

A simple ponytail is fine by me and right now with my short haircut, a teeny ponytail is all I can make do with!

12. Would you rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lipgloss?

I’m NOT a lipgloss fan so I’d rather never be able to use lipgloss than be able to paint my nails.

13. Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all or sharpie them in everyday?

Yikes, this is another tough cookie! Hmmm……..Sharpie eyebrows are going to look super weird but so is no eyebrows at all…. Gah!!!! I suppose if I used the Sharpie in the best way possible it would be okie rather than not having eyebrows at all eh?

14. Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?

Not a happy decision to make but I’d rather live without nail polish than without makeup.

This was quite a fun tag to participate in and if you think the same, go ahead and answer the questions but don’t forget to tag me so I check out your answers too! Have fun xoxo!
