It’s A Piazza Cake

Was feeling up to doing my nails earlier this week so I went with one of my favorite shades by OPI.

I find OPI to have the best application and I only needed two coats to reach full opacity. It doesn’t chip on me for over a week, even without a top coat.

OPI Samoan Island

Yes, I’ve kind of gone bonkers over OPI nail polish this month.  This is my third review of yet another nail polish by the brand and I have to say, I’m loving it.

What I have on my nails in the above picture is the colour Samoan Island.  Again I don’t know from which year or range it is from because I happened to just pick it up at the Sephora counter at a mall in Jeddah. It might seem like nothing but actually is a very beautiful colour. A very neutral taupe is how I’d describe it.

The opacity is not as bad as you’d think on this one. I only had to apply two coats to get the colour right and it left no streaks or bumps whatsoever. I love the way the application brush glides on the nails and give it an even application.

Great job OPI! Xoxo

Chocolate Mousse – Moose?!

I’ve been trying out a few OPI nail colours recently; not the newest collections (I did purchase the little Nordic Collection) but just some random colours I saw and really liked. Chocolate Moose happened to be one of them. Now this is like the perfect type of nude for any and every skin colour in my opinion. An oldie alright but truly a goldie because it’s such a pretty nude shade. It’s not exactly chocolate but it’s not completely a toned down nude in it’s fullest sense either which is kind of why I think I was drawn to the colour. If I had to really describe it I’d say it was a light chocolate shade with an earthy tone to it. There! It doesn’t make my nails looked washed out or draw too much attention. It quite a nice hue and I was surprised when all I had to do was apply one coat of it onto each of my nails. The opacity is really amazing. Good one for a casual day out.

OPI Nordic Mini Collection review

This was something I promised to post about (obviously) over a month ago but didn’t end up doing so here it is finally. I know it’s late in the sense that there are so many newer collections for the Fall but I’m still very much in love with these cute and adorable shades from the Nordic Collection by OPI that I don’t really care if it’s late or not. I featured it in September as one of my Weekly Snaps and you can check that out here.

So once again the colours in this mini collection includes My Dog Sledge is a Hybrid (a turquoise blue green shade), Do You Have This Colour in Stock-Holm (a grape like purple shade), My Voice is a Little Norse (a glitter shade) and lastly How Great is your Dane (a taupe brown shade).

How Great is Your Dane?

Now this colour is not something I’d pick up on it’s own but I love that it’s in this collection. I think it’s because I’m able to pair it with the glitter shade and together they look oh so fancy. It’s a cool chocolate brown shade and went on well with just one coat on each nail.

There you go! See how pretty these two are when paired together 😀 The glitters did not need double coating or anything either and went on well with plenty of flecks with just one application. I’d love to wear it on it’s own too.

What a pretty purple grape shade. This is another beauty! I’m not all up for purples and plums on my nails but I love the look of this. It’s not an overbearing shade and I think anyone can carry this off. I needed two coats to get the right opacity but I ain’t complaining cause it’s such a beautiful and lively colour.

I’m a huge teal and mint fan and this is like the perfect hybrid colour for me. It’s such a cool and fun colour and I know Fall is for dark toned colours but I just don’t care. I’m wearing this right now and I can’t stop looking at my nails with the hugest grin plastered on. I needed two coats for this as well and again, no complaints there. Just simply love this!

Overall I think this mini collection was a fabulous buy and worth the money I spent (including shipping). I love all four shades and will definitely be wearing them occasionally this year and perhaps even the next!

What are your favourite shades from the Nordic Collection?

Trending – Neons!

I’m seeing neon and neon again! I though spring was all about soft pastels and candy floss colours but heck I’m raring to wear some bright and spunky neons already!

Gorgeous clutch bag

Take this outfit for example. It includes a minty turquoise dress, a canary yellow jacket and this funky neon pink clutch bag that I simply adore. I love the way the entire look has been put together, colour blocked and made to look chic and stylish at the same time. Which brings me to one of the greatest nail polish collections ever by OPI:

OPI Neon Collection 2014

I just can’t wait to get my hands on this funkilicious neon collection that’s oozing with sexy and fun colours. I live in Sri Lanka so I’ve got to order this and ship it over which is going to take some time but hey, it’s going to be totally worth it. The collection features six bubbly colours – Juice Bar Hopping, Life Gave Me Lemons, Down To The Core-al, Hotter Than You Pink, You Are So Out Of Lime and Push And Pur-Pull.

Colour blocked neons

Came across this colour blocked clutch bag a few hours ago and had to post it. I’m digging the vibrant print cardigan included in the outfit too. Mixing prints and bright colours is a fabulous trend and I hope to incorporate this into my style as well.

Stay tuned! Xoxo
