The Body Shop Wild Argan Oil Body Scrub review

This has definitely been a year for trying out body scrubs of all sorts and fragrances for me. I ain’t complaining, I’ve loved trying out so many and have come to really love some of them. Earlier this year, I was dying over the Body Shop Blueberry Body Scrub which was sadly a limited edition product. I wanted to eat it the moment I opened the tub because it smelt so damn good. This one’s nearly as good.

The Body Shop Wild Argan Oil Body Scrub is made nearly the same way the blueberry one was, as in it has a very gel like gooey consistency. I love this about the scrub. I don’t like it being too heavy and harsh and as a gel scrub, it’s very light and easy to lather all over the body and then get on to the scrubbing.

Now to be quite honest, I do not know what actually Argan oil smells like but in the form of this scrub, woaaaah it’s beautiful! Yes, I said beautiful. It’s the kind of fragrance that settles between a nut and a flower in my opinion. I don’t know if that makes sense to any of you, because reading back it doesn’t make any sense to me but you kind of get the gist of it right? Hope so!

I love lathering this on because of its cool gel-ness. You can also tell the oil really does it job as you start scrubbing all over and the grains get working. There is an afterglow people, yes afterglow and it just makes you want to just stay in the shower and use it all over again. I’m very careful with this one because I don’t want to finish it too soon like the last one. Thankfully I did get myself two but…. I’m still careful. At night, I head over to the bathroom, open up the scrub tub and take a whiff of it simply because the fragrance is so unique and lovable.

As for it’s ingredients and whatnots, you know how the Body Shop works and you know they only use natural organic ingredients. This one is a sure keeper. I’ve also got the shower gel in the same range but somehow I’m not in love with that as much as the scrub. I dunno what it is though but oh well!

I bought my stash of Body Shop in Saudi but you can buy yours online in the US and UK.

If you’ve tried this, let me know what you think of it in the comments below! Xoxo

Tea Tree Skin Clearing Lotion – review

The Body Shop - Tea Tree Skin Clearing Lotion
The Body Shop – Tea Tree Skin Clearing Lotion

Now as known, I’m not big on experimenting with skin care products but I have heard plenty about The Body Shop Tea Tree range to actually let down my guard a teeny bit and try out one or two of their products. I’ve only used the skin clearing lotion for about a week but I have to admit that I already like it.

The description on their site claim it be hydrating, easily absorbing, controls shine and is clinically proven to clear your skin (as in that it is suitable for blemished skin). Now I have a few blemishes on the side cheeks of my face – this happens when a pimple has broken out and it leaves light patches behind. I also tend to occasionally have a bit of oily skin around my t-zone. So there were such multiple reasons for me getting this product and trying it out.

I use it after cleansing my face and I only need a nut sized amount because it is a little runny-like and can be evenly applied on the face. At first I wasn’t accustomed to the smell of tea tree but I find that as the days go by it doesn’t bother me as much to be honest. Okie so, I apply it all over my face including a little bit towards my chin and especially on my blemished areas. In a matter of seconds, it dries out and gives you a matte finish. This I love. I was initially sceptical because I do not want a shinier look but no worries about that now. Since I started using it, I have seen a few results in the sense that my blemishes are lighter and my skin does feel hydrated. I use it once in the morning after my skin care routine and also sometimes during the mid afternoon if I feel like it. This is also partially because I went my face when I have to take ablution to pray.

Overall I have to say I am happy with this product and would recommend it to friends and family. I am also thinking about using the blemish fade night lotion but I might wait a while to try out another new product. Let me know in the comments below if you have used it and think it’s a product worth trying out.

Happy mid-week everyone! 😀

Body Shop Mini Shower Collection

I’ve got wonderful sisters who send me wonderful gifts – like this! This is a first for me from The Body Shop. So far I’ve only tried a few lippies and body scrubs but not any of the shower gels. I am however a big lover of the satsuma fragrance and this includes a satsuma shower gel so I’m totally excited about doing this review!

All four shower gels - satsuma, moringa, strawberry and mango

First up is the satsuma shower gel. As someone who loves fruity fragrances I am instantly attracted to this one. I love the orangey fragrance. Satsuma is also known as clementine so you know you’re going to get a orangey fruity fragrance. I’m surprised at how true the fragrance is to the fruit because often bath and body products don’t get such fragrances right. This one gets a huge thumbs up from me.

Next is the moringa shower gel. I already use the body scrub so I kinda knew what to expect with the fragrance. I adore the floral tones because it’s not too harsh and not too light. I’m truly looking forward to using this tomorrow and paring it with my scrub. Thumbs up for this fragrance.

I’ve been told that the strawberry fragrance doesn’t quite emanate as a true strawberry would so I was taken by surprise when I opened this bottle to get a whiff. It does smell like actual strawberries! I don’t know what the fuss has been about and I can already tell this one’s going to be a favourite, because as I said I love fruity fragrances. A semi thumbs up!

Last but not the least is the mango shower gel. Unfortunately I’m not a mango fan; I don’t like the ripe taste or smell of it but for the reviews sake I’m going to give it a good whiff. Again, surprisingly I’m not entirely turned off my this fragrance. I kind of get the feel that it emanates a raw mango fragrance and that’s something I actually prefer to the ripe aroma. A partial thumbs up for this one.

Hope you enjoyed my review!

Moringa Cream Body Scrub

Body Shop - Moringa Cream Body Scrub

Why I love it:

Works great as an exfoliator and moisturiser
Includes the nourishment of moringa seed oil
Fresh fragrance
Easy use
Leaves the skin looking new and feeling fresh

I can see why many love this cream body scrub but the tough part is, its not readily available everywhere. I simply love the fragrance that lingers after using it for hours at a time. The grainy feeling is an added bonus for me because I know my body will get the right amount of exfoliating it needs. It’s not too rough on the skin; its creamy texture saves the day. Sadly I don’t like the size of it cuz it looks like it could be over with a couple of uses. I’m going to have to use this very sparingly.
